Personality Profiling
Personality profiling is a form of psychological testing which can be used by employers to screen job applicants or make employee promotion and development decisions. Some of the most consistent problems that companies and their HR managers face is who to hire, who to promote and who to send for development programs.

To provide an example, a company has its sales staff sit for a personality test which determines the work styles of each sales person. Amongst other favorable traits, a good sales person should typically be highly persuasive and confident; however, Jack who has been with the company for two years has results that have shown otherwise. By being able to identify Jack’s weaknesses, the company is then better able to shortlist employees who are in need of training or development programs.

Additionally, companies might choose to deploy such assessments at a departmental level and similar to the previous example determine areas of strength and weaknesses within a department.
